Utah artist, H. Shane Ross, earned a BFA from UtahState University. Part of his education included a trip toEurope, where he studied art and design and taught drawing.
Mr. Ross strives to “create art which builds and edifies others and expresses my better self.” The landscape provides Shane with the inspiration to achieve this goal. He paints with a limited palette using the painterly medium of gouache. He also paints in oil. H. Shane Ross was born in Murray, Utah in 1973. At the age of five, he moved with his family to Vernal. He loved the area and felt a strong attachment to the landscape. After serving a mission for his church, Shane earned a BFA from Utah State University. Part of his education included a trip to Europe, where he studied art and design and taught drawing. As he studies the works of artists who have gone before and ponders upon the art he wants to create, Ross’s goal remains unchanged.
Shane Ross currently lives in Utah with his family, and his art is represented in galleries in Salt Lake City, Utah, Jackson, Wyoming, and in Bend, Oregon at the Mockingbird Gallery.
